At Veritas, our teams in Product Management, Engineering, and DevOps are constantly striving to enhance the Veritas Alta™ SaaS Protection (formerly known as NetBackup SaaS Protection) solution for our customers. Our improvement efforts are primarily focused on two key areas: Enhancing and optimizing our customers' experience by simplifying workflows and providing a user-friendly interface.
Veritas is delighted to announce the general availability of backup, restore, and archiving functionalities for Salesforce data in Veritas Alta SaaS Protection. This addition reflects our commitment to providing comprehensive data management solutions for our customers. For those unfamiliar with Salesforce, it is a widely used customer relationship management (CRM) application delivered to customers through software as a service (SaaS) model.
Salesforce was among the first application vendors to adopt the shared responsibility model, where they are responsible for the application software and infrastructure, while the customers are responsible for securing and protecting their own data. This means that if data is accidentally or maliciously deleted by a user, Salesforce cannot recover it. As a result, Salesforce has recommended for years that their customers use a third-party data protection solution for their Salesforce data, such as Veritas Alta SaaS Protection.
What makes Salesforce unique among SaaS applications is that it uses structured data, which requires structured backups to ensure that data can be restored. Additionally, Salesforce objects can have complex relationships with other objects, which are crucial to business operations. Veritas Alta SaaS Protection is designed to successfully back up and restore these relationships, setting it apart from other solutions.
Furthermore, Veritas Alta SaaS Protection's single-tenancy architecture provides customers with their own isolated backup storage and dedicated compute resources, ensuring high performance and low recovery point objectives (RPOs) and recovery time objectives (RTOs).
It's worth noting that Veritas Alta SaaS Protection now supports Salesforce in General Availability (GA), making it an even more attractive option for businesses looking to protect their Salesforce data.
