Overview

The HIH-5030 and HIH-5031 humidity sensors are ideally suited in battery-powered systems where the supply is a nominal 3 V as they can operate down to a low 2.7 V. They have been specifically designed for high volume OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) users. These sensors utilize a near-linear voltage output making direct input to a controller or other devices possible. They are ideally suited for low drain, battery operated systems with a typical current draw of only 200 μA.

The HIH-5030 is a covered integrated circuit humidity sensor.
The HIH-5031 is a covered, condensation-resistant, integrated circuit humidity sensor that is factory-fitted with a hydrophobic filter allowing it to be used in condensing environments including industrial, medical, and commercial applications.

Honeywell Humidity Sensor, 8.59mm, 3-pin SMD - HIH-5031-001


This humidity sensor from Honeywell is used to monitor humidity in equipment such as air compressors, refrigeration systems, and meteorology instruments. It's a surface-mounted device (SMD), which means it's quick and easy to install as there's no risk of lead misalignment to the printed circuit board (PCB) through holes. This sensor has a hydrophobic filter, making it condensation-resistant and safe for use in condensing environments. It has a low current draw of 200μA and a minimum operating supply voltage of just 2.7V, so it's an energy-efficient choice for use with low-drain, battery-powered systems.
