Allen Bradley Guardmaster 440G-T27121 Solenoid Interlock Switch


Gain superior protection for personnel and keep your machine guard door secure with the TLS-1-GD2 440G-T Solenoid Interlock Safety Switch, Power to Unlock, 24V ac/dc, by Allen Bradley Guardmaster.


This device is a positive mode, tongue operated interlock switch that ensures guards are safely locked while machinery is in motion, and keeps power isolated when the guard is open. This reduces the risk of personnel entering a hazardous area. This cost-effective switch is perfect for use with machines which do not stop instantly, or which may be damaged by interference while in motion. The secure interlock mechanism is released only when an external signal is applied to the internal solenoid, which then allows the safety barrier to be opened.


The 440G-T27121 has power to unlock functionality and an operating temperature of -20 to +60 °C (-4…+140 °F). It has a supply voltage of 24VAC/DC, M20 conduit entry, thermal current of 10A, and rated insulation voltage of 500V. It features 2NC Safety Contacts, 1NO Auxiliary Contact, and 1NC/1NO Solenoid Contacts. The housing material is comprised of UL approved glass-filled PBT and this guard locking switch is fitted with a stainless-steel actuator guide to protect the unit from actuator damage due to wear-and-tear and poor gate alignment. It is suitable for use with PLCs.

Actuator is not supplied and must be ordered separately. This safety switch incorporates a power-to-unlock function.


Warning:


With the “power to lock” function switches, provisions are required to ensure that a dangerous situation cannot result from open circuit faults or power cuts.

What is a Solenoid Interlock Switch?


A solenoid interlock switch is a type of safety switch with an internal solenoid; a wire coil which converts electrical energy to mechanical. This type of interlock mechanism prevents access to dangerous areas where machinery may be functioning by ensuring that that barriers remain securely locked. The safety guard can only be released through either energising (Power to unlock) or de-energising (Power to Lock) the solenoid with an external signal. They are often used in industrial environments, for example with high inertia rotating machines.
