Allen Bradley Guardmaster 440G-MT47037 Solenoid Safety Interlock Switch, Power to Unlock


Ensure affordable and reliable safe-access to machinery for personnel with the 440G-MT47037 safety interlock. This switch can be used on equipment safety barriers to keep them securely locked while in operation, and to keep power isolated while the guard is released. This reduces risk of injury to operators by preventing access to dangerous areas where machinery may be in motion.


This guard locking switch has Break-Before-Make action, Power-to-Release functionality, and 3NC/1NO contacts. The supply voltage rating is 24VAC/DC and it has M20 conduit entry. Thermal current is 10A.


The 440G-MT Switches by Allen Bradley Guardmaster are heavy duty solenoid safety switches which are perfect for use with machinery which does not immediately stop when power is removed, or which could be damaged by interference while in motion. They ensure that the guard can only open when a signal is applied to their internal solenoid, which releases the locking mechanism. They are expertly designed to provide a superior level of protection for machine operators and keep your processes running smoothly.


These switches can have a high holding force running up to 1600N (360lbs) and have die-cast alloy housing which makes them suitable for use in harsh environments, to give you superior reliability. They have an operating temperature range of -25°C to +60°C. Actuator travel for positive opening is 15mm and solenoid power is 13W typical 100% ED. The minimum operating radius is 60mm.

How do Solenoid Interlock Switches work?


Solenoid interlock switches work by having their internal solenoid energised (Power to Release) or de-energised (Power to Lock) by an external signal. This is a wire coil which converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. These types of safety switches are often used in industrial environments on machine guards to monitor door status and limit unsafe access to hazardous equipment. They ensure that safety barriers remain securely locked while dangerous processes are running. They are useful with machinery that does not instantly stop, such as high inertia rotating machines.
