Allen Bradley Guardmaster 440K-E33041 Elf Miniature Safety-Rated Interlock Switch


Provide enhanced security and stability for your machine safety system and protect personnel with the 440K Elf Miniature Safety-Rated Tongue Interlock Switch by Allen Bradley Guardmaster.


This safety switch is unique for its miniature housing, which is the smallest guard door interlock device in the industry at only 75mm x 25mm x 29mm. It is designed to be fitted at the leading edge of hinge, sliding, and lift-off guards for smaller machines such as printers, copiers, and domestic machinery that previously could not use safety interlocks due to space restrictions. The 440K switches provide secure electrical interlocking of the guard door to the machine’s control circuit.


The 440K-E33041 Elf safety switch has 2NC (Normally Closed) Safety Contacts, a 90° actuator, and M16 conduit entry (quick disconnect). It is sealed to IP67 and has an operating temperature range of -20…+80 °C (-4…+176 °F). It made of UL approved glass-filled PBT the actuator is stainless-steel, providing greater durability. This safety interlock switch can be operated by inserting a specially profiled key which is permanently fixed to the guard door. It has dual entry slots and a rotatable head, which provides up to 8 actuator entry options.

This device can be used with GuardLink, a new safety linking technology from Allen Bradley Guardmaster. GuardLink simplifies and reduces the connection time of the safety system, whilst providing real-time diagnostic information over Ethernet IP. This makes it simple to identify the location of the device that has tripped the system, thus reducing downtime, and improving the machines overall efficiency. What is a Safety Interlock Switch?


A safety interlock switch is a device which keeps guard doors and gates securely locked to prevent access to areas where dangerous machinery may be in operation, minimalising the risk of injury to personnel and damage to machinery. They can also be used to monitor the status of the machine guard, and to ensure that machinery cannot start up or run while the guard door is open. They are often utilised in industrial applications, such as safeguarding factory production lines. They can vary in lock type, maximum current and voltage, and housing material.
